For months, there has been speculation surrounding the loss of a major character in season 16 of NCIS. The first episode of the show in 2019 premiered this past week and some of the plot line suggests that it could in fact be "Timothy McGee" leaving the show this season. Fans are freaking out on social media and sincerely hoping that "McGee" is not the one leaving.
During the episode "Toil and Trouble", characters "McGee" (Sean Murray) and "Kasie" (Diona Reasonover) are left chatting about a box of tech gifts that "McGee" has just received. It comes to light that "McGee" is being headhunted and he tells "Kasie" to keep it to herself. "Kasie" is very excited and supportive of him, even going so far as to say how much money he would make there and so on... Hint Hint.
While no official comment has been released regarding the speculation, Monsters and Critics seem to think that Sean Murray's role is safe on the show for now. They said, "there has been no information suggesting he'd leave, but that, of course, a departure is not impossible." We are just going to have to keep watching to find out!
