After leaving the hit series Charlie's Angels, Kate Jackson (71) moved on to play "Amanda King" in the TV-Show Scarecrow and Mrs. King.

Not only did her popularity increase tenfold, but she was also even offered Meryl Streep's part in the Oscar-nominated film Kramer vs. Kramer, which she had to turn down due to production deadlines and conflicts for Scarecrow and Mrs. King.

Kate Jackson also appeared on Criminal Minds

After the series was cancelled, Jackson starred in a variety of TV projects such as Loverboy in 1989. Furthermore, she guest-starred in series like Ally McBeal (1997), Sabrina, The Teenage Witch (2002), and even Criminal Minds (2007).

Kate Jackson's struggle with health problems

Kate Jackson was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987. After the first lengthy round of chemotherapy, doctors proclaimed that she was cancer-free, but unfortunately, the cancer returned in 1989. According to People magazine, Jackson even had a mastectomy.

Nevertheless, things became even more complicated for the young actress when doctors discovered a septal defect, or in other words, a hole in her heart. She later explained on the Larry King Show that surgeons were able to close up the hole without any complications. Since then, she has been an active advocate for early breast cancer screening.
