Country music fans were met with disappointing, but expected news earlier this week when the Academy of Country Music Awards were rescheduled. But the ACM is now making up for the postponement with a new live show titled "ACM Presents: Our Country." It will join in the recent trend of celebrities and musicians who are entertaining their fans from home during the self-isolation and social distancing period.

ACM Awards postponed: New live concert details

"ACM Presents: Our Country" will air live on April 5, which is when the ACM Awards were to take place. According to a statement from the ACM, the event "will feature intimate conversations and at-home acoustic performances with top country artists, along with clips of their favourite moments from the Academy of Country Music Awards’ 55-year history.

"Artists will appear from their homes via video chat to share some heartfelt thoughts and perform acoustic versions of country hits. It will be a night filled with entertainment, hope, and reflection, bringing the healing power of music to Americans at a time when they need it most," the statement reads.

The performers for the evening aren't yet known. But country music fans can hope that their favourites, such as Keith Urban and Blake Shelton, will be eager to once again play for the fans. Urban was even set to host the initially scheduled ACM Awards.

"ACM Presents: Our Country" is a night that fans won't want to miss. Keep it in mind! It airs on April 5 at 8pm EST on CBS. The originally scheduled Country Music Awards will instead take place in the fall.
