Betty White's name has been dragged into unfortunate rumours in the days following her passing.

But her agent has now spoken out about her death. He told NBC that "Betty passed away peacefully in her sleep" — and not due to the COVID-19 vaccine.

Betty White's death not caused by COVID vaccine

After White passed on Dec. 31, an online rumour claimed she had gotten the COVID booster shot three days before her death.

A phoney quote was even attributed to White, which read: "Eat healthy and get all your vaccines. I just got boosted today."

Her agent Jeff Witjas says Betty "never" said that, nor did she receive a vaccine on the day of Dec. 28. It's misinformation spread by anti-vaxxers.

White's agent confirmed that Betty died of natural causes. The Golden Girls actress lived to be 99 and was just three weeks away from her 100th birthday.
