Blake Shelton knows exactly who he'd like to get to perform when he and Gwen Stefani tie the knot! As Entertainment Tonight shares, when the question was posed to Shelton during a new interview, he shared that he wants Maroon 5 to be his wedding band— and why he thinks he can make it happen!

Shelton on Adam Levine: "he owes me a lot"

Shelton said that his fellow coach on The Voice— who also happens to be Maroon 5's frontman— owes him one. "I've kind of decided that I've been doing this a long time now and I've got a lot of favors out there," he said on Thursday's episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers. "He may not like it, but Adam Levine's gonna have to get the band together and come and play our wedding."

The country crooner went on to explain that Maroon 5's music video for "Sugar" has demonstrated the band's potential as wedding performers. "I've already seen a music video where they crash people's weddings and he owes me a lot for just putting up with him over the years," Shelton said. "So I think we can get Adam to come be our wedding band."

Shelton says Stefani's ring managed to go unnoticed

Shelton also couldn't help getting in a playful jab at Levine's band! "Plus, their music is so boring that it won't distract from the festivities and the reception and all that stuff," he said, suggesting that Maroon 5 could even go and perform in a barn where people could chill out.

The country singer proposed to Stefani back in October, and mentioned that his fiancée actually managed to wear her engagement ring when she appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers right before the news was announced! "She kept doing this with her hand and wondering if people would figure out that she was wearing an engagement ring," Shelton explained, demonstrating the gesture.

However, the "Let Me Reintroduce Myself" singer managed to hide the piece of jewelry signifying her relationship status update! "I told her, I said, 'You know, you wear more jewelry than Mr. T, so I don't think people picked up on that,'" Shelton said. "And they didn't. You could have figured it out though, she was giving you hints."

And even though Shelton and Stefani are now engaged, it looks like it will be a while before wedding bells actually ring for the couple! That's because Stefani has expressed her wish for her family to be in attendance on her big day— a commitment that's difficult to plan ahead for thanks to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
