Cate Blanchett has revealed that despite a recent at-home incident with a chainsaw, she's okay! As People reports, Blanchett recently made an appearance on former Australian prime minister Julia Gillard's podcast, A Podcast of One's Own.

While on the show, she talked about the unique injury she experienced not long ago!

Blanchett says chainsaw accident wasn't as thrilling as it sounds

Blanchett revealed that while at home during quarantine, she ended up on the receiving end of a dangerous power tool! And while she said that she's okay, she didn't remain entirely unscathed.

"I had a bit of a chainsaw accident yesterday, which sounds very, very exciting, but it wasn't," Blanchett said. "Apart from the little nick to my head, I'm fine."

"Be very careful with that chainsaw," Gillard replied in response. "You've got a very famous head — I don't think people would like to see any nicks taken out of it."

Blanchett talks being in isolation with family during coronavirus

Blanchett also mentioned what it's like to be spending time with her kids now that school isn't going ahead as planned. "I had taken a year off being a working mother of four, my eldest son was doing his A-levels," Blanchett explained.

"And so I took the year off ostensibly to be with him and support him through that exam period, and then all of that exam stuff evaporated." Now that her son Dashiell isn't able to finish his exams, he's stuck at home with Blanchett.

"And, of course, I'm left with an 18-year-old who doesn't really want to have anything to do with me," Blanchett said. "So it's a little bit discombobulating." She also shared that she's ended up having to play the role of kindergarten teacher for her daughter Edith!
