Former Grey's Anatomy star Katherine Heigl has learned the lesson "Don't bite the hand that feeds you." Her opportunities in Hollywood dried up almost overnight due to her own self-destructive mouth.
Katherine's biggest role was in Judd Apatow's comedy Knocked Up, and although the film reached great success Katherine spoke poorly about the film. In an interview with Vanity Fair Katherine said "It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I'm playing such a b****... It was hard for me to love the movie." Her castmates and co-stars felt blindsided by the statement especially considering Judd Apatow famously stars his wife Leslie Mann as leads in many of his films including female-driven ones.
On top of that when Heigl was nominated for an Emmy award for her performance on Grey's Anatomy, Heigl told The New York Times "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention."
Now she has been put on the backburner of Hollywood and stars (or is featured) in flops or Blockbuster films like The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature, and Home Sweet Hell. She was most recently seen in the Netflix series, Firefly Lane... Let's see if that kick starts her career again!
Mel Gibson has been super successful as both an actor and a director throughout his career in Hollywood. Shortly before the premiere of his movie Apocalypto, he was caught driving under the influence which led him to utter anti-semitic slurs on camera. This led to people boycotting his movies and the actor in general. He has had scandal after scandal and many productions have a hard time giving him roles because of his poor reputation. Nowadays he tends to stay behind the camera, but looking at the bright side, he got nominated for an Oscar for directing the movie Hacksaw Ridge back in 2017.
