Chris Hemsworth is currently struggling with the same thing as many parents around the world right now... homeschooling his kids! On Wednesday, Hemsworth appeared via video on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and as People reports, the Avengers actor was candid about finding home education a challenge.

"I’m trying but I'm failing miserably," Hemsworth admitted. "It's sort of four or five hours of negotiation and bribery, and then maybe 20 minutes of actual work, if that". Since he and his wife Elsa Pataky have three kids— 6-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan, plus 7-year-old daughter India Rose— having to homeschool them all is proving to be tough.

Hemsworth says that "everything has changed" in curriculum

Hemsworth told Kimmel that there's another factor making homeschooling a difficult task for him, which is the fact that the school curriculum now is different from the one he grew up with! "Also, everything has changed since I was in school," Hemsworth shared.

And from the sounds of it, this shift in curriculum has made explaining math more difficult. "I was talking to the teacher about it and adding, subtracting, so on, it's not quite as straightforward now. There's all these new tricks, and so on, which I don't understand. So good luck me teaching my kids".

Hemsworth then joked that he's now "relaxed into the idea that they're gonna come out of this quarantine with an IQ a little under par and a little behind".

Hemsworth reveals he finds mowing the lawn "therapeutic"

Hemsworth shared with Kimmel that while homeschooling is stressful, there's one chore he's found solace in while under quarantine! "I actually really like mowing the lawn," the Australian actor said. "I got this ride-on mower a few months back and there's something quite therapeutic about it. And it may be just a few hours of escape from having to entertain three kids 24/7 or teach kids".

And since having to educate his kids isn't the easiest thing for him to do, Hemsworth admitted that sometimes he's used mowing the lawn as an excuse to ditch his teaching duties! "It's usually around school time that the lawns need to be mowed conveniently," he said jokingly. "'Honey, that lawn's growing, It's a jungle out there. I gotta get to it, sorry'."
