Since the pandemic has pushed back production of "Detective Elliot Stabler's" return to the Law & Order: SVU franchise, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni have been giving fans a little taste to tide us over!
Law & Order: Organized Crime, "Dt. Benson" and "Dt. Stabler" Together Again
NBC announced that Christopher Meloni would be returning as beloved "Dt. Elliot Stabler" to the Law & Order franchise with his own spin-off Law & Order: Organized Crime.
Since the production of the new series was repeatedly pushed back due to the pandemic, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni have been slipping fan selfies and behind the scenes photos. We knew Meloni would be featured on Law & Order: SVU again to begin his spin-off but now we know Mariska will be joining Law & Order: Organized Crime too!
Mariska Hargitay posted a selfie of the pair together on the set of Law & Order: Organized Crime with the caption, "It's all happening." In the slide show of photos, we can even see crew chairs with their character's names printed on them. "Benson & Stabler" are back together again!
They're helping Broadway actors
Fans have been over the moon at the news and the comments are flooded with excitement. Even celebrity fans have been chiming in! Will & Grace's Debra Messing commented on Mariska's post with a simple, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" while RuPaul's Drag Race star Detox commented, "I'm gonna cry."
We have not seen "Benson and Stabler" together since "Stabler" left the force back in Season 12. Finally, his talent and the ultimate duo are getting back together again!
