The 2004 world darts champion Andy Fordham passed away on July 15 at the age of 59, according to The Sun. The Official British Darts Organisation announced on Facebook:
“(We) are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of the darts legend Andy (The Viking) Fordham, a true gentleman of the game who will deeply missed by all. Our hearts and thoughts are with his family at this time."
Fordham had been suffering from health problems for some time now. The athlete struggled with drinking and weight issues during his life, and he also battled the coronavirus early in 2021.
But Fordham died of major organ failure, a spokesman confirmed to the UK Sun. May he rest in peace.
