Denzel Washington was out driving in West Hollywood on Thursday afternoon when he took notice of a concerning sight.
The actor saw a man on the road who appeared to be in distress, veering close to oncoming traffic.
TMZ broke the story and obtained video of the latter portion of the event, when Denzel was staying with the unnamed man and talking to police.

After noticing the man, Washington, 65, got out of his car to help him back to the sidewalk. The Oscar winner, who was wearing a face mask, then stayed with the man until police arrived on the scene.
In TMZ's video clip, Washington is seen comforting the man and seemingly describing the encounter to police. The man was detained momentarily, but also released shortly after, according to TMZ.
