Diddy shuts down a twerking Lizzo

On Easter Sunday, hip-hop icon Diddy shared with fans an Instagram Live of the "world's biggest dance-a-thon".

The live was streamed in hopes to raise money for healthcare workers and first responders amid the Coronavirus outbreak.

Joining the host was singer and rapper Lizzo, who showed off some dance moves.

When the "Truth Hurts" singer put on a risky song and started twerking, the 50 year old producer promptly stop the music.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Diddy shouted, rushing into the frame and stopping the music. "It’s Easter Sunday, let’s play something a little more family friendly."

Lizzo stopped immediately, looking flustered and apologized right away.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry! Let’s do something fun. Well, don’t play that kind of… play something I can bop to."

The young singer then suggested playing her hit song "Juice".

However it was later that fans responded poorly, as another singer Draya appeared on the live showing off her twerking skills as well.

"You killed that!" Diddy responded to Draya.

Fans noticed the discrepancies, and were quick to comment.

“But Lizzo was a ‘no’ and embarrassed?? hmmm I’m a little confused now…We need to keep the same energy- I don’t like this,” one viewer wrote.

Diddy did make a statement later, saying that it wasn't the twerking that made him uncomfortable.

“There’s one thing that I want to make clear. My queen, my sister Lizzo, when I stopped the music it was ’cause it had a lot of curses in there, not ’cause she was twerking,” he said.

Diddy continued his statement saying, "She’s one of the best twerkers in the world. Let’s keep that clear. It wasn’t about twerking. You’re allowed to twerk on Easter. There was a lot of cursing in the record. And I don’t need child services knocking on my door right now, you understand? So that’s why I stopped the record. Lizzo, we love you and everybody stop looking for the negative, look for the positive!”

Along with Lizzo, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez also joined in on the fun.
