Duane Chapman aka "Dog the Bounty Hunter" opened up about his wife Beth's death during the season finale of his show Dog's Most Wanted this Wednesday. The 66-year-old reality television star said he contemplated suicide after Beth passed away just a few months ago, "I just hope that I don't live very much longer without her," he said.

While struggling to fight back his tears, "Dog" revealed that only a few hours after his wife's passing he thought about taking pain pills. Then he joked about it a little bit: "I feel like if I did something to myself right now and passed away, suicidal, and I got to heaven, I'd go, 'Hi, honey!' and she'd be like, would she go, 'You dumb ass, why did you do that?' or would she go, 'Wow, you're here!'"

Duane "Dog" Chapman and his wife Beth had a very special relationship

After an on-again-off-again relationship Duane "Dog" Chapman tied the knot with Alice Elizabeth "Beth" Barmore in Hawaii, back in 2006; it was "Dog's" fifth marriage. Together they had two children, Bonnie, and Garry, born in 1998 and 2001, respectively. Duane also adopted Cecily, Beth's daughter from her previous marriage.

Duane and Beth had such a close and special relationship that they even took it to the next level. They co-starred in the reality television shows Dog the Bounty HunterDog and Beth: On the Hunt, and Dog's Most Wanted, the latter being Beth's final appearance on screen.

Beth Chapman passed away only a couple months ago

Alice "Beth" Chapman died in June 2019 at the age of 51. The reality television star lost her battle against throat cancer; she was diagnosed with stage 2 of the disease in 2017 and underwent a surgery to have a tumor removed. Duane and Beth Chapman appeared in the A&E series Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives, an emotional two-hour special featuring Beth's battle with cancer.

In early 2019, Beth started filming Dog's Most Wanted in Hawaii; on June 22nd during production, she had to be hospitalized and placed in a medically induced coma. She passed away four days later due to complications from cancer and was cremated. Some of her ashes were scattered at sea. Although "Dog" has had a really hard time overcoming his wife's death, he now tries to encourage people to seek help whenever they feel they are in a dark place.
