Concluding her post, Parton writes a heartbreaking farewell, adding, "We will always love him and he will always be in our hearts."

Dolly and Randy often collaborated on music together, most recently on her latest album A Holly Dolly Christmas on the original "You Are My Christmas".

"Randy was a great singer," Parton said. "He sang, played guitar and bass in my band for many years…his duet with me on 'Old Flames Can’t Hold A Candle To You' will always be a highlight in my own career."

Randy was the 8th of the 12 children born into the Parton family. May he rest in peace.
