Sometimes in life we just get so excited we forget to keep things a secret, and that's exactly what happened with Emma Roberts's mother, Kelly Cunningham!

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Roberts revealed that her mom was so eager about the young actress's pregnancy that she spilled the beans on Instagram, causing her daughter to block her own mother!

Emma Roberts blocks her mom on Instagram

Emma Roberts is revealing to Jimmy Kimmel that her mother was just not tech-savvy enough to keep her pregnancy under wraps! She noted that her mother has just recently switched from a flip phone to one that suits the modern world, and is still figuring out social media etiquette.

"I was keeping my pregnancy pretty low key but unfortunately my mother has Instagram. Which, mothers and Instagram, it’s a bad combination," she said. "She definitely spilled the beans."

Roberts revealed that she bought her mother's iPhone, and was trying to teach her mother how to use it before the untimely reveal.

"It was the worst thing I ever did," she laughed. "It started slow with a Google Alert on me, which she never had before, so she's like, 'Emma, have you seen this photo from 2010?!' I’m like, 'Yes, I’ve seen that photo.' So I’m getting flooded with 'Is this true?' And 'Have you seen this and that?' And then she got Instagram."

She then went on to say that her mother was "catfished" multiple times, most notably by someone pretending to be the singer Jackson Browne.

"It led to interacting with my fans and just thanking them for all their pregnancy wishes. It was a disaster," she said. "And I found it all out on a plane, so I couldn’t get to her. I couldn’t call her or attack her."

"She was like, 'Thank you so much for the well-wishes! We’re so excited.' It was endless," sharing that her mother fuelled the rumours and didn't understand that the report was originally just a tabloid.

"It was unbelievable. When I said to her, 'Mom, you revealed my pregnancy.' She goes, 'Emma, you announced it!'" she explained. "And I said, 'No I didn’t. That was a tabloid.' She goes, 'Oh I didn’t… that wasn’t clear.'"

"We kind of laughed. We kind of got into a fight. I blocked her at one point," she said, noting that at least this will be a good story to tell her son.
