Coronavirus Causes Major Cancellations: Here Are Some Of The Affected Events

The European Broadcasting Union confirmed there will be no Eurovision Song Contest this year. The popular music event has been cancelled amid coronavirus concerns, and won't be moving forward with its 65th edition this year, which was expected to start on May 12.

Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was set to take place in the Netherlands

Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was expected to take place at Rotterdam Ahoy in the Netherlands, following the country's victory at the 2019 edition with the song "Arcade" performed by Duncan Laurence. The EBU confirmed that the Dutch city would potentially host the 2021 edition.

Eurovision Song Contest has been a great success over the past years. The event invites European countries to submit original songs to be performed on live television before a winner is selected. A version of the contest featuring younger contestants, Junior Eurovision Song Contest, has also been a great success.
