Over her two-plus decade career, the versatile actress has won praise for the range of her work. Jones got her start as a child actress in the late 1990s, starring as "Ethel Hallow" on popular children's series The Worst Witch and its sequel Weirdsister College. Her first film, meanwhile, was 2008 drama Flashbacks of a Fool, which starred Daniel Craig.
Thereafter, Jones continued TV work on Servants and Cape Wrath, before playing Margot Frank in the BBC's 2009 adaptation of The Diary of Frank. Since then, the actress has shifted to movie stardom, appearing in many box office hits and critical darlings.
One of her best-received roles was in the 2011 romantic drama Like Crazy, which won her many awards. But Jones managed to top that acclaim by portraying Jane Wilde Hawking in the 2014 film The Theory of Everything—with co-star Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking.
