Lil Nas X Releases New Video For "Rodeo" - Watch It Here!

Fran Drescher is learning to love herself  and her life  again! This week's issue of People sees Drescher opening up in an exclusive interview about her most significant relationship these days... and it might surprise some!

That's because she talks about how "getting really connected" to herself "has been a great journey, because now, I’m not even feeling like I have to be in a relationship, because I’m in a relationship with myself — and it’s going quite well".

Fran Drescher's struggle to overcome co-dependency

Drescher talks about how after her public divorce in 1999 from husband Peter Mark Jacobson, who turned out to be gay, she had to get used to flying solo. "I think that I’ve had to very consciously work on not being codependent, not being fearful of being by myself or doing things by myself,” she says.

"I really had to make a concerted effort to get past that. And I think that I am good with it now. But still, I’m not like, ‘I’d rather stay home by myself than go out and do things by myself.’ But then whenever I do do things by myself, I enjoy it".

Drescher realizing her relationship needed to change

Fran Drescher reached a point in her marriage to her high school sweetheart when she realized things weren't working for her anymore. "I wasn’t feeling as happy as I thought I’d feel with money, and fame, and creative control,” she says. “Peter started to have control issues that I found somewhat suffocating, and only in hindsight, do we now understand that he was working so hard to control his authentic self, his true orientation".

Still, Drescher and her "gay ex-husband", as she refers to Peter Marc Jacobson, are still on good terms! The two remain "close friends" even today. And although she's in a relationship with herself, Drescher disclosed last month that she's spicing things up with a "friend with benefits"! “It’s delightful and delicious,” the actress revealed, “but I’ve got a big life".
