George Clooney has shared that he's a regular handyman around the house! As Entertainment Tonight shares, in a new interview, Clooney recently opened up about how he's kept himself occupied during the pandemic— and the one skill he doesn't have!
Clooney reveals he learned practical skills living alone
Clooney said he'd decided to do a little renovation project while being stuck at home. "I wood stained the entire interior, exterior, and all the furniture of the house. All of it," the Midnight Sky actor told AARP The Magazine. "It was getting dingy, and I had buckets of stain, and I was, like, 'Well, what else am I going to do?' It made me feel better. And I put chicken wire all around the dog yard."
He also shared how he'd rewired a sewing machine for his assistant, and is comfortable working the device himself— a practical skill he learned out of necessity! "I do a lot of sewing the kids' clothes and my wife's dress that tore a couple of times," Clooney shared. "I was a bachelor for a long time and didn't have any money, and you have to learn how to repair things."
Clooney feels he could help his friends on a desert island
Clooney then mentioned that if he ever ended up in a survival situation, he thinks he would do just fine. "If we were on an island and you had to pick somebody to help you survive, I would pick me," the actor shared. "Ask all of my friends and they would pick me, too. I can make a waterspout out of this and a pitcher out of that."
But while Clooney may have a wealth of skills when it comes to practical, hands-on knowledge, he admitted he isn't exactly savvy about the world of technology! "I'm intimidated by anything on the internet," he said. "Like, if I push a button and something goes wrong, I panic. I'm a Luddite when it comes to that."
