Hailey Baldwin is getting candid about her marriage to Justin Bieber, the "Peaches" singer whom she married in 2018. During the beginning of their marriage, Bieber struggled with mental health, addiction, and Lyme disease.

Now, Baldwin says they're in a much better place, but notes that it wasn't always easy in those first few months, and goes on to share some intimate details about her own family, including her famous father, Stephen Baldwin.

Hailey Baldwin stands by her man through it all

While speaking to the Victoria's Secret Voices podcast, the young supermodel got candid about her husband and reveals that she knew how to help Bieber through his challenges because of the personal experience she's already had with her father.

"There's a lot of addiction that runs in my family, not even just my dad," she said, mentioning Stephen Baldwin. "A lot of other people on that side of my family struggle with a lot of different things."

Bieber has previously been open about his struggles, and Baldwin said earlier this month in another podcast that she's "all in," no matter what her husband has to deal with.

However, helping Bieber navigate through his own struggles did bring up a lot of hurt from the model's past.

"My dad was always really open about [his addiction] and I always appreciated that," she continued. "I was always really, really close to my dad. He was just always, like, extremely open about why being sober was what worked for him and why we needed to be sober and what alcoholic behavior looks like, and where that comes out."

Baldwin's father, Stephen, battled years with alcoholism and an addiction to cocaine, which she identifies specifically in the podcast.

"Looking back on times of drug use and being in some dark spaces and having to kind of go back there was extremely difficult," she said, revealing that it was triggering for her at times reliving those moments.

She said she'd be open and honest with Bieber, but that it wasn't always easy for her. "Being like, 'Hey, where are you at with this?' I've had times where I would get nervous, [asking Justin], 'Are you OK to do this? Because you did have a time in your life where it was not OK for you and it was a dark time for you,'" she said.
