The 27-year-old rocker stopped the whole concert and walked up to the woman in question, McKinley McConnell, and asked her what she wanted from her moment.

"What would you like to tell your mother?" he said, holding the microphone toward her. "I can tell her if you'd like."

"Okay, there's a lot of people," McConnell nervously said.

Styles broke the tension and teased her saying, "There is a lot of people. Did you not know? Did you think this through?"

He continued, "Okay, do you want to tell her, or should I tell her?" After getting the green light, he walked over to section 201, and the camera zooms in on McConnell's mother.

"Lisa, she's gay!" he exclaimed, and the crowd erupted into a sea of cheers. The monitors zoomed in on the mother who got emotional but clapped to show her support of her daughter.

"Now, I don't want to ruin the moment, but wouldn't it be nice if you were a little bit closer together?" Styles joked before continuing on with the show.

McConnell told NBC News that she and her mother flew in from Los Angeles last minute, and that's why they were so far apart. The young University student said that after the show her mother said "You always had a flair for dramatics," and was very supportive of her.

"I think they probably always suspected, even though you try to act like they don't. She just kept saying she loves me and is proud of me," she added, noting that she feels very fortunate to have such supportive parents.

"Thank you for creating a safe place for me. thank you for letting me grow alongside you as a fan. thank you for helping me know who i am. thank you," she later tweeted to Styles.

This isn't the first time Styles has helped fans come out, and it's becoming a new tradition for the pop sensation.
