Holland Taylor isn't used to staying in one place for long, but that's exactly what she and her partner Sarah Paulson have been forced to do this year! In a new interview for People, the actress opened up about how she and Paulson have been coping with life in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Taylor has been able to spend more time at home with Paulson

Taylor is usually on the go with various projects, which is why she told People that "it’s been wild to be still for a while." However, the plus side of her current situation is that she's gotten to spend more time with Paulson than usual! "Both of us normally have to travel for work, have constantly been filming, always leaving a bag halfway packed in the foyer at our house," Taylor explained.

She also mentioned a fun, socially distanced outing that she and Paulson attended together— Sandra Bullock's birthday party! "We all stayed six feet apart outside and just shared our gratitude at all we have and that we got to see each other. Sandy Bullock is an extraordinary person," Taylor said. "She is a very, very, big person, a very serious-minded person. And also as fun as a basket full of puppies when she wants to be."

Taylor calls the pandemic "a shocking, destabilizing event"

Taylor went on to mention how her relationship with Paulson is doing since they've been spending more time with one another! "Of course, Sarah and I didn’t need to be brought closer together. We have a very tight, close relationship within each other’s thoughts," she revealed. "We share everything that’s going on."

However, Taylor admitted her mental well-being has suffered because of how the pandemic has limited social contact. As People mentions, the actress expressed her sadness about not being able to see many of her friends and family members back east. "I’m having quite a battle psychologically coping with what’s happening in the world and in my little corner of it," she shared.

Taylor said that she struggles with not being able to surround herself with others who are important to her. "The inability to be with the people I’d love to be with, along with Sarah. People I’m close to that I can’t see and won’t be seeing in any foreseeable future," she continued. "It’s very upsetting to me. Particularly in this time of my life, it’s really a shocking, destabilizing event."

Taylor talks about her hopes for life after coronavirus

Taylor also shared her thoughts on how people's age can affect their perception of the pandemic. "For others, middle-aged or younger, who unconsciously know that they have a whole big life ahead of them, perhaps they feel they are not as hampered in this way," she explained.

The 77-year-old actress then spoke on how she hopes the world changes after the coronavirus pandemic! "After this virus leaves, however it departs, and we are left to rebuild society, perhaps we will have a better set of values, perhaps we will aim for something that is not a continuation of empty materialism or turning a blind eye to our brother," she said.

"I’m hopeful that the reaction will be a leap forward. Quarantine has put everything in perspective," Taylor went on to say. "It’s hard to think about one’s little luxury problems." While Taylor and Paulson's lives may be on standstill for the time being, Paulson does have a new Netflix show coming out called Ratched, which is a spinoff of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest!
