'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo': Where Is Mama June Today?

We all remember Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson from the adorable series, Toddlers & Tiaras. 'Mama June' Shannon was her number one cheerleader for her daughter's pageants, and they turned into reality TV celebrities shortly after their appearance on the show. Let's take a look at what Mama June is up to today!

The Shannon Family grew up and still continues to live in rural Georgia, even with all of their sudden fame as reality TV stars. Mama June was Honey Boo-Boo's biggest fan, as she supported her journey through beauty pageant competitions on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo: Life after beauty pageants

Once they hit national stardom, the television show offers kept coming to their door! They starred in a spin-off called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which featured the life of the Georgian family - Alana, Jessica, Anna, Lauryn, Mike "Sugar Bear", and Kaitlyn.

Four seasons aired of the show until there was controversy looming over Mama June in 2014 and whom she was dating: a criminal sex offender. In 2017, TLC showed a few of the "lost" episodes of the show, creating a four-episode season 5.

The next series for Mama June

After the last official season of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Mama June's next spin-off series debut was Mama June: From Not to Hot. The series was based around Mama June's weight-loss transformation of 460 to 160 pounds (209 to 73 kg).

In 2015, she had also participated in another reality show: Marriage Boot Camp, which was aimed to revive her marriage to former husband Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson. Although the weight-loss transformation was a success, the marriage boot camp was not.

More recently, Mama June has been under fire for her March 2019 arrest. She and her new boyfriend, Geno Doak, were arguing at a gas station when police were called. Both crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia were discovered in their car.

In the series, Honey Boo Boo has outspokenly disapproved of their relationship, but her mother, unfortunately, continues to date Doak. June recently revealed that she is working through her drug problems. She also recently announced that she is 6 months sober. We wish the best for the Shannon family!
