"Indiana Jones" Turns 40: What Happened To The Cast of the Franchise?

George Lucas' Alaskan Malamute, Indiana, was an inspiration for two famous movie characters. One is "Chewbacca" because Indiana would sit in the passenger seat in Lucas' car and be taller than him when driving. The other character is quite obvious.

The world has now enjoyed four full decades of "Indiana Jones". In May of 1977, George Lucas was vacationing in Hawaii because he was expecting a bad reception for his film Star Wars. He invited his friend, director Steven Spielberg, to join him. Spielberg was looking to direct a "James Bond" film and Lucas pitched him a similar idea for a movie.
