The star of movies like Atonement and The Last King of Scotland actually pledged £275,000 to Masks for Heroes and the campaign has now already surpassed the amount of 1.5 million pounds, as the actor has documented fervently on his Instagram account - watch the clip above for proof!

One of the people behind the project, Dr Salaj Masand, said: "We are overwhelmed and speechless at the trust and faith people have put into us to deliver this. The number of very generous donations from everyone doubled our target within three days."
