But it looks like there might be trouble in paradise for the "IT" couple of the moment. Because following a tell-all interview with Howard Stern, Affleck has come under heavy fire from the Twitterverse who claim that Affleck blamed his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner, for his struggles with alcoholism. Some users online claimed that Affleck was "passing the buck," and is a "sexist" for implying his wife at the time was an influence on his drinking.
"I’d probably still be drinking. It’s part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped," the actor told Stern. "I was like ‘I can’t leave ’cause of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution."
Twitter users were merciless: "He was drinking long before her. She stood by him after he cheated. She takes care of the kids while he’s off living the JLo lifestyle. Jennifer Garner saved Ben Affleck’s life and career. He should show more grace," said a Twitter respondent.
Jennifer Lopez Is Mad At Ben Affleck
Affleck himself appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week to clear the air about what he said on that interview. "I would never want my kids to think I would ever say a bad word about their mom," he said.
But his new partner, Jennifer Lopez is reportedly very angry about how she is being dragged into the mix of this media frenzy. According to a source for Page Six, Jennifer is not exactly a happy camper these days.
"[Lopez] is pissed - She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this." The source added, "She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids … It’s reckless and cavalier of him."
Lopez has a reputation for being strong-willed and it's not unlikely that this might end their second attempt at a relationship before it even truly began again. But so far, the couple seems willing to push through to the next stage in their lives together, and fans will be hoping they can get past this and live happily ever after!
