Actor Joe Lara and his wife Gwen Shamblin died in a plane crash tragedy this weekend.

The couple were among the seven who died on Saturday when a private jet plunged into Percy Priest Lake, near Nashville, Tennessee, NBC News reported.

Along with Lara, 58, and Shamblin, 66, the other victims of the crash were identified as Jennifer J. Martin, David L. Martin, Jessica Walters, Jonathan Walters, and Brandon Hannah.

Joe Lara was a film and television star who worked from the 1980s into the 2010s. His better-known work was on TV, where he appeared in episodes of series including Baywatch and The Magnificent Seven. He was also the title star of the 1996 series Tarzan: The Epic Adventures.

Lara and Shamblin married in 2018. Brandon Hannah, who also died in the crash, was Shamblin's son-in-law.

Reports say the cause of the crash is still being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board. The group on board the flight belonged to Gwen Shamblin's church. She was the founder of a faith-based weight-loss program and the Remnant Fellowship Church in Brentwood, Tennessee.
