Known for many things, Kanye West is also known for being a man of many names, some more outlandish than others. Over the years, Kanye has been known as "K-West", "Yeezus", "Yeezy", and he even once went as far as calling himself "the new Beethoven". But this week, Kanye seemed to appeal to his more minimalistic side, reducing his official stage name down to two letters, and now simply referring to himself as "Ye".

The news is sure to have its fair share of controversy attached to it as with everything else Kanye does. Fans are still recovering after his shock divorce to Kim Kardashian, and perhaps this is his way to cope with things.

Kanye West Is Now To Be Known Simply As "Ye"

Kanye West Changes His Name Again

This Monday, a Los Angeles judge formally approved the request of the rapper, producer and fashion designer to legally change his name from Kanye Omari West to just Ye. There is no middle or last name to go with it at this time, so it may not hold up too well for any legal proceedings.

"There being no objections, the petition for change of name is granted," Judge Michelle Williams Court said in court documents according to CTV. And just like that, the world now has to get ready for "Ye". For many, this is another publicity stunt from West, but whether he'll keep that name for the rest of his days remains to be seen...although it is highly unlikely in our opinion!
