Karamo Brown shares his thoughts on 2020

Ah, 2020. The year we all will look back on and wonder, "what the heck was going on?" Not only are we living through a pandemic, but the George Floyd killing, the death of Kobe Bryant, murder hornets, and the Australia bush fires were just some of the major headlines of the last six months.

Karamo Brown has an idea of what is happening to the Earth, and the pensive, thoughtful life coach from Queer Eye shares his insight.

Appearing on Wednesday's episode of The Late Show with Jimmy Fallon, Karamo reflects on what we're all going through.

"Most people don’t even realize that they’re grieving right now," he said.

"They’re experiencing a severe loss. Like what people don’t realize, even when the pandemic was happening, you are grieving the loss of financial stability, of our regular schedules," he continued.

He then went on to talk about the current protests saying, "You have to go through a process of acknowledging it and starting to heal from it."

He continued, "That’s happening again, it’s now compounded also with the fact that Black Lives Matter movement is happening — people are waking up and they’re going through so much loss and everyone is screaming out for, ‘I need change. I need things to be different.'"

Brown also expressed that the most we can do for ourselves is to sometimes just take a break from it all.

"I think what is beautiful is that people get to take a break, a mental and emotional break," he said.

"Which is necessary, so that you can recharge and come back stronger to help other people," he continued.

Additionally, Tan France received his citizenship just moments before going live.

A new season of Queer Eye is now streaming on Netflix.
