Katy Perry has been getting some unexpected practice as she gets ready to embrace motherhood! As Entertainment Tonight reports, Perry appeared on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, where she opened up about her quarantine living situation. And as it turns out, she's been spending lots of time around kids!

The show's host asked her if the rumours that her nieces and nephews were staying with her are true. "There is a three year old and a six year old and my brother had an 8-month-old baby," Perry confirmed. "And Orlando [Bloom] has a son of nine."

Perry says she's "not used to" kids waking her up in the mornings

Perry— who's expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom— told Norton that while she's not unfamiliar with children, living with them has been a whole new experience! "I’m learning to be a mom fast," she admitted.

"Kids gravitate towards me through my music, so I am used to them, but I am not used to being woken up really early in the morning by them staring at me from the side of my bed!” Perry also recently talked to Entertainment Tonight's Rachel Smith about how quarantine has brought her and her family closer together.

"I have found a lot of ways to be incredibly grateful and to bond with my family on a deeper level than I ever have, rather than just a vacation or a holiday," she said. "There's a new foundation that's being laid within families and between partners and I just think people that are quarantined together. We'll never forget this time."

Perry explains positive message behind her new single "Daisies"

Perry also talked about her brand-new song "Daisies" during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show, noting that the current situation of the world has made the song's message even more impactful. "It is a simple message of staying true to your dreams no matter what anyone says," Perry explained.

"In the pandemic, it took on a whole new meaning for me. I think I’ve taken some things for granted and when I get out of this hell, I am going to live my best life and do all those things I’ve perhaps put on the shelf because I thought they were accessible at any time."

Perry says after childbirth she's going into "version of quarantine"

Perry may be in quarantine like the rest of the world, but she's still been keeping busy! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Perry kicked off Good Morning America's Summer Concert series, performing "Daisies," and "Never Really Over," in her backyard, next to her "favourite tree."

"I'm in my stepson or future stepson's room because it's the furthest away from everyone and I don't want to wake everyone up," she said while on a live video chat with GMA. Perry also mentioned that once her baby is born, she plans to release her new album.

"Quite honestly after my child comes I'm going into my own other version of quarantine and I would like this record that I've been working on for two years to come out and be a gift to the public," she admitted to GMA.
