The widely loved pop star Lady Gaga took the stage this Wednesday morning for a more political turn, and sang the American National Anthem for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' inauguration!

Millions watched as the singer showed off her pipes in the historic moment.

Lady Gaga performs at the Presidential inauguration

Never shy to show off her incredible pipes, Lady Gaga took the stage to perform the "The Star-Spangled Banner" during the U.S. Presidential inauguration, where President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris make history.

Lady Gaga sings the National Anthem at the inauguration of U.S. President-elect Joe Biden on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol on January 20, 2021 in Washington, DC.

Biden, who is now the 46th President of the United States, was sworn in alongside Harris, who made history as the first woman to be Vice President.

"Singing our National Anthem for the American People is my honour," Lady Gaga said on Twitter before her performance. "I will sing during a ceremony, a transition, a moment of change—between POTUS 45 and 46. For me, this has great meaning."

She continued, "My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly."

"I will sing to the hearts of all people who live on this land. Respectfully and kindly, Lady Gaga," she concluded.

The 11-time Grammy winner wore a gorgeous gown adorned with a large golden dove, the universal symbol of peace and unity.

This is also not the first time Lady Gaga sang the "Star-Spangled Banner" for millions of viewers. In 2016, Lady Gaga performed at the Super Bowl, wowing millions with her powerful vocals.

Biden has previously called Lady Gaga a "great friend" following the two teaming up in 2017 for the "It's On Us" campaign, set up by the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, which encourages university and college campuses to do their part in stopping sexual assault.

Furthermore, Garth Brooks, who is a self-proclaimed Republican, said that he was asked personally to perform at the inauguration as well by First Lady Jill Biden.

Brooks said, "This is not a political statement — this is a statement of unity," when accepting the offer.
