Reese Witherspoon is spilling some of the deets around the highly anticipated Legally Blonde 3 release, which is still being written by the notorious funny-woman Mindy Kaling.
It's been 20 years since the first installment of the future three-logy, and fans of the film can't wait, and Witherspoon is teasing just a small detail about the movie!
Witherspoon and Coolidge join forces again
Reprising their roles as "Elle Woods" and "Paulette Bonafonté", Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Coolidge are ready for some major excitement with their fans as Legally Blonde 3 hits production.
Coolidge said during the Backstage podcast that she was "dying to know" what's to come of the film, noting that her costar has a bit more information.
"You know, Reese is the keeper of the keys and she knows," she said. "I know so little of what’s happening with that so I can’t wait to hear what Reese has to say."
Witherspoon responded by saying that she wishes she "could take a poll" to see what it is audiences want to see from the film.
Witherspoon added, "Visiting characters 20 years later to see what’s changed about them and what hasn't... the movie is such a feminist movie too."
She continued, "Your life doesn’t have to be defined by your romantic relationships. It could be defined by your girlfriends, by your sense of self-worth, by your job, your education, your accomplishments. So it’s interesting to visit characters 20 years later."
Witherspoon also noted that the film is still in the writing process but said, "It’s a lot of me and this lady," referring to Coolidge.
If everything stays on track, Legally Blonde 3 will hit theatres on May 20, 2022.
