Lil Nas X might not be looking for love right now, but he knows what he wants when it comes to his next boyfriend! The "Montero" singer opened up to Entertainment Tonight during Monday's WSJ Magazine 2021 Innovator Awards, which were held in New York City, revealing what his ideal partner would be like.
Lil Nas X says he wants to date "somebody who's fun"
Lil Nas X outlined the qualities he would be looking for in a potential boyfriend "when the time is right," and as it turns out, spontaneity and entertainment make up a key part of that package! He explained that he'd like to be with "somebody who's fun," and who is "always ready to try new stuff."
Since the rapper is known for his flashy stage persona and making bold statements with his art, it's not surprising that he would also want his future boyfriend to be someone who can adapt well to change! Lil Nas X said his partner would also have to be "ready for me to become a different person every single year."
While Lil Nas X was not out to the world as gay when he first made it big with "Old Town Road," he has since become one of the most successful pop stars belonging to the LGBTQ+ community. In 2020 he laughed off a homophobic rant posted to social media, and has gone on to powerfully own his sexuality through his music and performances.
