Every fan of classic TV shows is, naturally, familiar with the name Patrick Duffy. In the eighties, Duffy became a celebrated TV star with the role of "Bobby Ewing" in Dallas.

But even before he took on his most famous role in Dallas, Patrick Duffy starred in the sci-fi series Man from Atlantis. From 1977 to 1978, four television movies and 13 episodes were produced with the star. 

Duffy played the leading role of "Mark Harris", who was rescued by the marine biologist "Dr. Elizabeth Merrill".

Patrick Duffy: Breakthrough with Man from Atlantis

"Harris" doesn't have normal lungs and has webs between his toes and fingers enabling him to swim better. The character suffers from memory loss and it is assumed that "Harris" is one of the last survivors of the extinct city of Atlantis.

Patrick Duffy attracted some attention in the entertainment industry with his portrayal in the Man from Atlantis, but the series was cancelled after only one season.

Eventually, Duffy nevertheless bought the book rights to the series. In June 2016, the actor published the novel Man from Atlantis, which is based on the story of the TV show and is intended to answer any open questions fans might have. The book is an absolute must-have for all fans of the series!

Duffy starred in the cult series Dallas

But for Patrick Duffy, the end of the show was only the start of a big TV career. From 1978 to 1991, he starred in the cult series Dallas. He was featured in a total of 327 episodes. From 1991, he also took over the leading role in the series Step by Step. In 1998 the series was discontinued after a total of seven seasons.

In the early 2000s, Patrick Duffy had numerous guest appearances in many TV series and movies. From 2006 to 2011 he then played the role of "Stephen Logan" in the US soap The Bold and The Beautiful.

In the Dallas sequel, which was produced from 2012 to 2014, Duffy once reprised his most notable role of "Bobby Ewing".

From 2014 to 2015, Duffy played a supporting role in the successful series Welcome to Sweden. In 2017 he then appeared in the movies The Christmas Cure and the thriller Trafficked.
