• Maude is a beloved sitcom from the '70s
  • The Beatrice Arthur TV show ended over 40 years ago
  • Which Maude cast members are still alive?

Maude was one of the biggest sitcoms of the 1970s. It aired six seasons on CBS from 1972 to 1978, earning Top-10 ratings in each of its first four seasons.

Maude was a spin-off of All in the Family, with star "Maude Findlay" (Beatrice Arthur) having been introduced as a cousin of "Edith Bunker." Bill Macy co-starred as her husband "Walter," while the supporting cast was rounded out by Conrad Bain, Adrienne Barbeau, Rue McClanahan, Hermione Baddeley, and Esther Rolle.

Maude Cast: Who's Still Alive Today?

Maude went off the air over 40 years ago, and today most of the main stars have passed on. Of the main cast, only one star who was with the show for all six seasons is still with us now.

Title star "Maude," Beatrice Arthur, sadly passed away in 2009, while her on-screen husband "Walter," Bill Macy, lived to the proud age of 97—passing recently in 2019.

"Dr. Arthur Harmon" actor Conrad Bain lived to be 89, while "Vivian" actress Rue McClanahan left us in 2010. That leaves us with one star who acted in all six seasons of Maude: actress Adrienne Barbeau, who played "Carol Traynor," the daughter of "Maude."

Barbeau was in her late 20s and early 30s when Maude aired and is 78 years old today. And while she's the only surviving Maude star to appear in all six seasons, several other supporting actors are also still at it.

In addition to Barbeau, both child actors who played "Phillip" (first Kraig Metzinger and then Brian Morrison) and "Victoria" (Marlene Warfield), the housekeeper in the final two seasons, are still with us now.

Maude: What the stars are doing in 2023

Of the four surviving Maude cast members, only Adrienne Barbeau is still acting today. Metzinger and Morrison moved away from acting after childhood, while Marlene Warfield continued as a TV actress—though she's had few roles since the early 2000s.

On the other hand, Adrienne Barbeau has only become more prolific with age, appearing in dozens of TV series and independent films in recent years. So far in 2022, she starred in Hellblazers and was seen on American Horror Story and Cowboy Bebop in 2021.
