Maya Hawke's newest project will see the young actress teaming up on-screen with a very special co-star— her dad, Ethan Hawke! As Variety reports, it was announced on Friday that the father-daughter duo will be starring in Revolver. Here's what we know about their new movie so far!

Maya Hawke to play Alaskan teenager in Revolver

Maya and Ethan Hawke's Revolver will be written by Kate Trefry and directed by Andrew Stanton. The project will be produced by Ross Jacobson and Jen Dana's 3311 Productions. Variety shares that the film is set in 1966 and being billed as a coming-of-age comedy about romance in the time of Beatlemania. While Ethan's character is currently unknown, Maya will be starring as "Jane"!

"When the impossible happens — a flight to Japan carrying The Beatles is forced to make an unexpected stop — all hell breaks loose as the unsuspecting residents are consumed by Beatlemania," the movie's synopsis reads, as per Variety. "Jane devises a plan to lose her virginity to George Harrison, discovering that adventure (and romance) are actually a little closer to home than she thought."

Maya Hawke has had a notable year in her career

Maya Hawke has been on many people's radar since last year, after she starred as fan favourite character "Robin Buckley" in Stranger Things and appeared in Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood. As Variety mentions, she can also be seen in Gia Coppola's new movie Mainstream, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival last month.

Hawke has been working on writing her own music as well as acting, with her debut album Blush released in August! Fans of the actress will also be glad to hear that the fourth season of Stranger Things has resumed filming amidst the coronavirus pandemic after production shut down earlier this year.
