The Passion of the Christ director Mel Gibson is taking hit after hit lately, first accusations from his fellow Hollywood stars came up and then he caught COVID-19! Mel's representative came forward in his defense and to let fans know how he is doing.

Mel Gibson Hospitalized With COVID-19 And Faces Winona Ryder Accusations

Mel Gibson's representative opened up to the Daily Telegraph about the Braveheart actor's diagnosis and fight. His rep said "He tested positive in April and spent a week in the hospital. He was treated with the drug Remdesivir, while in the hospital, and has tested negative numerous times since then as well as positive for the antibodies."

It seems he is out of the woods now and recovered. His scary diagnosis has been made known to the public after Winona Ryder's interview with the Sunday Times was published. She alleges "We were at a crowded party with one of my good friends, and Mel Gibson was smoking a cigar, and we're all talking and he said to my friend, who's gay, 'Oh wait, am I gonna get AIDs?' And then something came up about Jews, and he said, 'You're not an oven dodger, are you?'"

Mel Gibson's rep has denied the claims in an interview with TooFab claiming the allegations are "100 percent untrue." He has apologized for his anti-Semitic remarks before, after his 2006 arrest when he asked his arresting officer if he was Jewish and said a few troubling statements such as: "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world." This prompted Gibson to later say "I want to apologize specifically to everyone in the Jewish community for the vitriolic and harmful words."

Mel Gibson has been having a tough few months of accusations and his battle with COVID-19. Hopefully, he makes a smooth recovery from the illness, and his accusations are either cleared up or apologized for.
