The LP features multiple songs with rock icons that include Stevie Nicks, Billy Idol, and Joan Jett! Working alongside current icon Dua Lipa, Cyrus proves this new sound is one we're here for!

"My PLASTIC HEART is overwhelmed by the support I’m receiving tonight! I was f-----g born to make the record I’ve just released," she tweeted.

"To my fans who have been here from the beginning, I appreciate you more than I can properly articulate. To anyone I’ve ever loved or lost, THANK YOU," she added.

Last year, Cyrus did plan on releasing a more rock-inspired album and released a mini EP titled She Is Coming. Unfortunately, major life setbacks held the full album from being released, but Cyrus has stood by the fact it was secretly a blessing.

After losing her home in the Malibu wildfires, Cyrus also had to undergo throat surgery, all amidst a public divorce from Liam Hemsworth.

During a chat with Apple Music on Monday, Cyrus said the trio of songs on She Is Coming no longer felt organic to her and were a story she no longer felt the need to share.

"I was going and making a set of three EPs — which were amazing, I was in love with the songs — but those two EPs weren't relevant anymore," she said in the interview.

"Even though I love the songs for what they were, they lost their relevance," she added.

Cyrus announced Plastic Hearts on Instagram with a photo of the cover shot by Mick Rock, who has also shot rock icons David Bowie and Debbie Harry.

"I began this album over 2 years ago. Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record — its songs/sounds but my whole f------ life. No one checks an ego like life itself," she said in her post.

"Just when I thought the body of work was finished ... it was ALL erased. Including most of the musics relevance," she continued. "Because EVERYTHING had changed. Nature did what I now see as a favor and destroyed what I couldn't let go of for myself. I lost my house in a fire but found myself in its ashes."

You can stream Plastic Hearts on any major platform, or buy it on AppleMusic.
