Miss Mexico is Miss Universe!
Last year's Miss Universe was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic so the talented gals waited a long time to compete! Sunday night was hosted by Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo where Miss Mexico Andrea Meza was crowned Miss Universe!
The eloquent Andrea made sure to bring attention to the change in beauty standards saying, "We live in a society that more and more is more advanced and as we have advanced as a society, we have advanced with stereotypes."
"Nowadays, beauty is not only the way we look. For me, beauty radiates not only in our spirits but in our hearts and the way we conduct ourselves. Never permit someone to tell you that you are not valuable."
Her inspiring message spurred endless support on social media and helped her earn the crown over the 73 other contestants. Julia Gama, (Miss Brazil), was runner-up and Janick Maceta (Miss Peru), took home third place.
The previous winner was Miss South Africa Zozibini Tunzi in 2019. The stunning light elegantly handed over the prestigious crown!
Andrea Meza is the third Mexican to be crowned Miss Mexico in history! She is a kind and brilliant model who also earned a degree in software engineering!
