James Lafferty was born on July 25th, 1985 in Hemet, California. He started acting at the age of 12 however, it wasn't until he was cast as "Nathan Scott" in the CW teen drama One Tree Hill that he really found fame.

In terms of movies, he starred in Lost on Purpose (2013), Oculus (2014), Waffle Street (2015), and as "Tony Lama" in the 2017 film Small Town Crime.
Lafferty has also tried his hand at directing, writing, and producing. He directed four episodes of One Tree Hill from 2009 to 2012 and was the executive producer of the 2010 short film Hours Before. James directed five episodes of The Royals from 2015 to 2018 and in 2017 he was the director, executive producer, and co-writer of the television film Everyone is Doing Great.

He currently lives in Los Angeles, California, and has never been married, although he is in a relationship with Australian actress Alexandra Park.
