Patrick J. Adams and Troian Bellisario didn't expect their second daughter would come into the world the way she did, but her arrival makes for quite a story! The couple appeared on the latest episode of Katie Lowes' podcast Katie's Crib, where Adams opened up about the experience of delivering their baby himself— while still in the car!

Adams reflects on Bellisario's parking garage labour

Adams mentioned that his wife had started to experience contractions, and it was recommended that the couple get to the hospital immediately. However, just as they had pulled into the parking garage, the situation escalated, as Bellisario went into labor right then and there!

"As soon as I hit the button and get the ticket, she's screaming," Adams told Lowes, explaining that Bellisario was "fully on her hands and knees and we've gone nuclear." The star said his mind was racing "1000 miles an hour" as he frantically asked a security guard for help.

Adams shares how he got through the baby's delivery

Adams then got pretty detailed about how things happened from there. He shared that Bellisario had been "still on all fours, butt facing the windshield" while yelling for him to pull her pants down. That's when things became real for Adams, since the baby was already starting to emerge!

The actor said that he had "no room for panic" in the situation, finding himself forced to react as things were happening. He explained that he intuitively responded to his wife's labour, helping her push and ensuring that the baby was free from the umbilical cord or any fluids.

Fortunately, Adams said the birth itself lasted only a few minutes, and their daughter came into the world safely! "And as soon as I turn her upside down, she starts crying and screaming," he said. There's no doubt that the couple's harrowing experience brought them closer together, and it's a relief that baby Elliot arrived safe and sound!
