Post Malone opens up in candid interview

Post Malone opened up about a lot in his GQ Style interview.

In the issue, Malone discusses everything from his singing voice and face tattoos to his battles with depression.

“You don’t have to sing good,” the "Sunflower" singer admits. “You just got to be f--n’ real about it."

Malone is also known for his distinctive face tattoos, and goes on to open up about his appearance.

“I’m an ugly-ass motherf--r,” he says. “It does maybe come from a place of insecurity, to where I don’t like how I look, so I’m going to put something cool on there so I can look at myself and say, ‘You look cool, kid,’ and have a modicum of self-confidence when it comes to my appearance.”

Post Malone talks about his identity and depression

"Finding my own identity in the whole thing was—I don’t want to say difficult, but it was a process for me."

He continues to open up about his emotional side, and his ongoing battle with addictions and depression.

"Middle school, I would cry myself to sleep every f--n day,” he reveals. “High school, the same thing. I tried to drink some beers to get rid of that s--t but it just never goes away. And I don’t think that’s anybody’s fault; it has to do with something predisposed in you.”

Malone also discussed how he copes, saying music is his biggest relief.

"Through my songs, I can talk about whatever I want. But sitting here, face to face, it’s difficult.”

Post Malone will appear on the cover of GQ Style hitting shelves March 3.
