'RuPaul's Drag Race': Where is Alyssa Edwards Today?

Alyssa Edwards is most well-known for her incredible drag performances, especially in the series RuPaul's Drag Race. After her departure on the 5th season, she continued to make more and more television and Netflix appearances. Check out the article to see what Alyssa Edwards is up to nowadays!

Alyssa Edwards was actually born Justin Dwayne Lee Johnson in suburban Texas on January 16, 1980. Her rise to fame is attributed to her drag lifestyle, where she started competing and performing in drag by the early 2000s. Her colorful career has taken off and inspired many to be creative and to not be afraid of their dreams.

Before her life on RuPaul, Edwards starred in the 2008 documentary, Pageant, which showcased the life of the Miss Gay America competition. She clearly had talent from the beginning of her drag days and was a fan favorite on RuPaul's Drag Race.

Even after her elimination from the fifth season, she continued to make a few more appearances with RuPaul, including RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.

Her fame as a drag queen landed her a Netflix 8-piece docuseries called Dancing Queen, which premiered in 2018. The series focuses on Edwards' dance studio: Beyond Belief Dance Company. Recently, the vibrant Edwards can be seen on the cover of one of her hometown magazines...

Between managing a dance studio, attending various LGBTQ events, and even having a makeup partnership with Anastasia Beverly Hills, Alyssa Edwards can do it all! She's truly a dancing queen and we can't wait to see what else is in store for her!
