Ryan Reynolds has officially voted in the American presidential election! As Entertainment Tonight shares, Reynolds took to social media on Thursday to share that he and his wife, Blake Lively, went and cast their absentee ballots together.

Reynolds says he's "proud" to have voted for the first time

Reynolds' voting in the upcoming U.S. election marks an important milestone for the Canadian actor! "This is my first time voting in America," Reynolds shared on Instagram, alongside a photo of the couple proudly holding up their ballots. "I’d like to thank my wife Blake for making my first time so gentle and loving. It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud."

Lively also shared Reynolds' experience as a first-time voter in America, reposting her husband's photo and using the same humorous approach. "It was Ryan’s first time. He was understandably scared. It all happened so fast. Like, REALLY fast," she wrote on Instagram. "He wept. I pretended to weep. Then he called all his friend. #voteearly" However, people noticed that there was something a little unusual about Lively's post!

Reynolds' photo shared by Lively with humorous addition

Reynolds' original photo of the couple casting their votes showed them standing in front of a brick wall, where Lively is shown barefoot. However, as Entertainment Tonight mentions, the actress appears to be wearing strappy heels in the picture she shared! The mystery was soon solved through a series of humorous exchanges between Reynolds and Lively on their Instagram stories— something the couple is known for.

Sharing the picture again with Lively appearing to wear another pair of shoes in it, Reynolds used gifs of an arrow and a question mark to draw attention to her feet. Lively then reposted the image, writing "...I don't see the issue," along with a gif of a short-haired woman in sunglasses.

As it turns out, the actress had decided to get creative and give herself some footwear by drawing the shoes on herself! "@louboutinworld are you hiring?" Lively jokingly asked, along with a close-up of the "shoes" Reynolds questioned. "Barefoot iPhone doodler with vast experience avail." She followed it up with a close-up of the strappy sandals. "Impressive resumé available on request," she said.
