Let's take it back to his childhood - his parents divorced when he was younger, and his mom, Vivienne Bellisario eventually married producer and screenwriter Donald P. Bellisario.
Bellisario is the creator and writer of shows like Magnum P.I., Tales of the Gold Monkey, Airwolf, JAG, and *drumroll* NCIS. Murray's only brother Chad, has also served as a producer for NCIS: Los Angeles.

Despite only having one biological brother, Murray has seven step-siblings: 4 step-sisters and 3 step-brothers. One of his step-sisters is Troian Bellisario, who you may recognize from the series, Pretty Little Liars.
Another one of his step-sisters is producer and writer Julie Bellisario Watson. His step-brothers also all work in Hollywood. Michael Bellisario is an actor, Nicholas Bellisario is a producer, and David Bellisario is a screenwriter.
