Taylor Swift reveals lyric meaning

Another surprise awaited Swift fans as they woke up on Friday morning to Taylor Swift answering some burning questions in regards to her lyric video release for her song off her latest album Evermore, "It's Time To Go."

Swift sings, "Sometimes giving up is the strong thing/ Sometimes to run is the brave thing/ Sometimes walking out is the one thing/ That will find you the right thing."

Fans of Swift remember when Hollywood started turning on the singer, as she lost a few friends to backstabbing and drama.

Her once-BFF Karlie Kloss was at the epicentre of rumours when Swift had major drama with Scooter Braun, with whom Kloss was frequently seen.

Furthermore, Swift never attended Kloss's wedding in 2019, but Braun did, further fueling the rumours of the fallout. Kloss had also been very vocal about her love for Kim Kardashian, another celeb Swift has been nemeses with.

Later in the song, Swift sings, "When the words of a sister come back in whispers / That prove she was not, in fact, what she seemed."

Swift continues in the next verse, "Not a twin from your dreams / She’s a crook who was caught."

The last line caught the attention of many Swifties.

Swift responded to these accusations in a post on Instagram saying it was a "song about a girl who stayed forever in the exact spot where her heart was broken, completely frozen in time. 'it’s time to go' is about listening to your gut when it tells you to leave. How you always know before you know, you know?"

Both songs are featured as bonus tracks on her second surprise album of 2020, Evermore, available for streaming or purchase on all major services.
