The Weeknd has embraced a new look for the New Year.

"Save Your Tears": Did The Weeknd get plastic surgery?

Today, the video is trending at no. 1 on YouTube, certainly owing in part to The Weeknd's new look. And as the video dropped online, the musician also took to Instagram to give fans a closer look at his appearance.

In the comments, fans were uncertain if the makeover was for real or not—and The Weeknd offered little assistance by sharing the selfie without a caption. However, as People has reported, the makeup artist behind the "Save Your Tears" music video has posted on Instagram referencing the video and its "weird plastic surgery make up" on The Weeknd.

"Save Your Tears" was the fourth and final single from The Weeknd's 2020 album After Hours. Despite the album's rave reviews and glowing success, the Canadian artist went unrecognized by the Grammy Awards, prompting him to call the award show "corrupt."

He'll also be headlining the Super Bowl 2021 halftime show.
