Tiger Woods is currently undergoing surgery after he was involved in a "major" car accident this morning. According to reports, Woods was injured when his vehicle rolled over while driving in California.

Tiger Woods suffered "multiple leg injuries" in car crash

It was a single-vehicle crash which required a Jaws of Life to extract the pro golfer from the car. Woods is currently in surgery and suffered "multiple leg injuries," his agent said in a statement made to media. 

CNBC has also reported that the injuries are "non-life threatening," per a lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Images of the wreck show a badly-damaged vehicle on its side with broken parts scattered nearby.

On Twitter, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department released the following statement about the crash: "On Feb. 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 AM, LASD responded to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes.

"The vehicle was traveling northbound on Hawthorn Boulevard at Blackhorse Road, where it crashed. The vehicle sustained major damage. The driver and sole occupant was identified as PGA golfer Eldrick 'Tiger' Woods. Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the 'jaws of life' by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries," the statement concluded.

Tiger Woods accident under investigation with LASD

According to People, Woods, 45, had been in California through the weekend for a golf tournament, though he did not participate because he was recovering from a recent back surgery.
