Born on July 30, 1964, in the state of Mississippi, Cassi Davis has been active in the entertainment industry since the last '80s. Prior to her success with director/producer Tyler Perry, she was actually in the 1988 Spike Lee film School Daze! After that, she landed smaller roles in Married... with Children and Kenan & Kel

Her first role in a Tyler Perry production was in the 2006 film, Madea's Family Reunion, followed by the play Madea Goes To Jail (2006), the film Daddy's Little Girls (2006), and both the play and film version of Madea's Big Happy Family (2010, 2011). Basically, if there's a Perry musical or movie, you can expect to see her in it!

Her success with Tyler Perry paid off in both 2010 and 2013 when she received her NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in House of Payne

House of Payne aired from 2007-2012, where she portrayed "Ella Payne", the matriarch of the Payne family. Tyler Perry announced a reboot of the show in 2020 that has premiered!
