Will Smith is opening up about his life behind the screen, and shares moments he not only struggled as a human rising to fame but also how he navigated fatherhood with his three children.
The book is set to be released this November 9 and is simply titled, Will. An excerpt of the book was released to the public, and the stories shed an interesting light on the famous family.

Written in his memoir, Will Smith reveals a time that he felt like he had let down his son, Jaden Smith. During their release of the film After Earth, Jaden was attacked by the press and took it out on his father.
"After Earth was an abysmal box office and critical failure," the 53-year-old actor writes. "What was worse was that Jaden took the hit. Fans and the press were absolutely vicious."
He continued, "They said and printed things about Jaden that I refuse to repeat. Jaden had faithfully done everything that I'd instructed him to do, and I had coached him into the worst public mauling he'd ever experienced."

Jaden later came up to Will and asked for emancipation from his father following the event. Will said, "We never discussed it, but I know he felt betrayed."
"At fifteen years old, when Jaden asked about being an emancipated minor, my heart shattered," he continued. "He ultimately decided against it, but it sucks to feel like you've hurt your kids."
The memoir also dives into some hardships he faced with his daughter, Willow. Following the huge success of her first single "Whip My Hair", Will said his daughter became burnt out, but he didn't honour that properly.
"Willow came skipping into the kitchen for breakfast. 'Good morning, Daddy,' Willow said joyfully, as she bounced to the refrigerator," he wrote. Willow had previously asked her dad if she could stop her tour, to which he reminded her that she had to complete the last leg of it in Australia.
"My jaw nearly dislocated, dislodged, and shattered on the kitchen floor: My world-dominating, hair-whipping, future global superstar was totally bald. During the night, Willow had shaved her entire head," he wrote.
"My mind raced and scrambled — how was she going to whip her hair if she didn't have any?" he continued. "But before I could respond, I felt something slowly turning, shifting, until it clicked into place: In a moment of divine connection and revelation, she had reached me. I leaned down, peered deeply into her eyes, and said, 'I got it. I am so sorry. I see you.'"
Will hits shelves on November 9.
